Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A soft lockup can occur in the Interrupt Service Routine (ISR) when the host is flooded with messages during the startup phase. This issue stems from the lack of handling for the FIFO error IRQ (FIFOE). When this error is not handled but the system reports IRQ HANDLED, the IRQ is triggered immediately again, causing the system to hang. This behavior was specifically observed on AM62L devices using the OMAP 8250 driver, though all 8250 drivers may be affected.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
