Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A deadlock can occur in the Linux kernel during root hub control transfers. This happens because the SCSI error handler, when managing errors in UAS and storage drivers, may attempt to reset or resume a device. These operations involve control transfers to the parent device, which could be a root hub. The issue arises when
usbcore fails to properly heed the flags passed to the usb submit urb() function during these transfers, potentially triggering I/O during memory allocations where it is prohibited.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
