Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
mac80211 module of the wifi subsystem where ieee80211 handle reconfig failure() is called unnecessarily during a NAN reconfiguration failure. This function marks all interfaces as not being in the driver. Consequently, when cfg80211 shutdown all interfaces() is called to destroy interfaces, the driver is not notified about the removal of states for other interfaces, such as a BSS station. This can lead to the driver maintaining dangling pointers to objects like stations and links.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
