Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A race condition exists in the coresight component during device registration and unregistration. ETM perf callbacks rely on the per-CPU csdev src pointer, which can lead to inconsistent data when updates occur. To resolve this, the system should retrieve the source using the path stored in the event data via the coresight get source() and etm event get ctxt path() functions, utilizing READ ONCE() and WRITE ONCE() accessors to ensure safety during preemption by pause or resume callbacks, such as those triggered by a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI), which is a hardware signal that the processor cannot ignore.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
