Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the pinctrl mediatek paris component where the functions pinctrl gpio direction input() and pinctrl gpio direction output() acquire the pinctrl mutex. This requirement causes gpiochip operations to need to sleep; however, the .can sleep field in the gpiochip is not set. Consequently, the shared GPIO proxy uses gpiod cansleep() to determine if a spinlock or mutex is required, incorrectly selects a spinlock, and subsequently calls pinctrl gpio direction output(), which attempts to take a mutex, resulting in a system warning.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
