Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The cfg80211 subsystem in the Linux kernel fails to reject duplicate cipher suite entries in
wiphy->cipher suites. This allows the WEXT compatibility code to append a WEP key length for every WEP cipher entry encountered, which can lead to a buffer overflow in the fixed iw range::encoding size array returned by the SIOCGIWRANGE operation.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
