Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the cortina ethernet driver where the RX loop only consumes the budget when a frame is successfully delivered. Because error paths consume descriptors without reducing the budget, a stream of bad frames can cause the entire receive ring to be processed in a single poll. This occurs because NAPI (New API), a mechanism used to reduce the number of interrupts in the Linux network driver, does not account for dropped frames as work.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
