Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the BPF verifier where it can incorrectly infer that a pointer is non-null. This occurs during the processing of comparisons like rA == rB within the check cond jmp op() function. The verifier previously relied on the absence of the PTR MAYBE NULL flag to determine if a pointer could not be null, which is insufficient for certain types such as PTR TO MEM. This flaw can lead to a situation where the verifier fails to catch a null pointer dereference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
