Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A reference leak occurs in the
amdxdna cmd set error() function. The function retrieves the first Buffer Object (BO) of a command chain, which increments its reference count. If the subsequent mapping of that BO fails, the function returns without decrementing the reference count, leading to a leak. This condition can be triggered by userspace recycling a handle after submission and importing a dma-buf (a framework for sharing memory buffers between drivers) whose exporter does not implement vmap (virtual memory mapping) onto the same ID, causing amdxdna gem get obj() to return an object that cannot be mapped.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
