Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Zammad versions prior to 7.1.2
Description
Zammad is a web-based open source helpdesk and customer support system. A flaw in the two-factor login process allows an attacker to perform unlimited password guesses for any account. This occurs because the system fails to trigger standard lockout mechanisms or rate limiting during this step. Additionally, the system response indicates whether a password guess is correct before the two-factor authentication is verified, enabling the brute-forcing of weak or reused passwords.
