Linux · Linux Kernel · CVE-2022-49496
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Linux kernel (affected versions not specified) **Description** An issue exists in the MediaTek vcodec driver where the kernel can crash during the removal of the `mtk-vcodec-dec.ko` module. When the driver is operating in subdev mode, the `dev->pm.dev` parameter becomes NULL within the `mtk vcodec dec remove()` function, leading to a system crash when the module is removed via `rmmod`. **Recommendations** At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
